Tax Facts Resolution Representation LITC Texas, Inc. is organized as a Texas Non-Profit Corporation and Public Charitable Organization exempt from federal income tax by the Internal Revenue Service under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) classified as a public charity under Internal Revenue Code Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) to receive charitable donor contributions, tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Internal Revenue Code Sections 2055, 2106, or 2522. The corporation is organized under federal and state law for charitable purposes to provide tax related education materials, workshops, webinars and consultations to qualifying and low income taxpayers and those individuals whom English is a second language to educate them about federal and states income tax rights and responsibilities, to operate as a recognized non-academic tax advocacy service, to provide tax controversy representation before federal and states tax authorities and litigation services before United States Tax Court to qualifying and low income taxpayers. The corporation operates on a calendar year accounting period and annually files IRS Form 990, a public record informational reporting.
Financial records are audited annually by independent auditors. The auditor’s report and audited financial statements are distributed to the Board of Directors for review and compliance filing.
Contributors whom have made designated or endowment gifts may request reports on usage of funds subject to confidentiality and identity protection of the recipient parties.
Contributors may request copies of annual audited financial statements and Form 990.

The organization honors our contributor’s intent with respect to donor selected programs.
Contributors receive an annual charitable contribution letter confirming the amounts of their annual tax deductible contributions. Contribution letters are mailed during the 2nd week of January each tax year.
